In February 2020, Oasis Trails purchased an abandoned monastery in Barbarin, just 4 km from the albergue. The vision is to have a place where people live in community, sharing their lives with each other. There will be spiritual rhythms of worship, prayer, and studying the Word, but also a place where people can serve each other by using their gifts. It will be a place where people are invited to join in whether it be for a week, a month, a year. We want to welcome everyone wherever they are at on their journey of faith, whether they are still looking for Jesus or have been walking with Him their entire life.
The building has been purchased, and the renovations have already started. Geothermal energy, solar panels, floor heating and a good interior design for the first floor are underway. We have had to find another builder, prices have gone up and with the above modifications and additions we found ourselves with a big gap of 115.000 eur to complete the ground floor, not speaking about further floors. We have been blessed with funds and for now the gap has been reduced to 32.500 eur. We would love for you to join and become a part of this project, either to finish the ground floor, or to support the following part of the renovations of the monastery!
