Besides a place to sleep and a warm shower, an evening meal is offered for a minimal price. This meal is prepared by volunteers who love to cook and who cook well. There are no menu choices, but we provide three courses including water and wine. The meal is enjoyed by both guests and volunteers, as one big family, and this paves the way for a closer acquaintance with each other. There can be a cacophony of languages but it is always intimate and sociable. During the meal each guest is offered a Gospel of John in his or her own language. Nearly always a welcome gift.
Early in the morning there is an ample breakfast buffet. This is prepared by a volunteer who is “up with the chickens.”
Every evening at 20.30 (8.30 p.m.) we have the Jesus meditation. This is a meditative day closing prepared by one of the volunteers. It is the spiritual highlight of the day. The guests are invited to this and people who do sleep at our hostel are also welcome. Many guests participate and there is regularly someone who is deeply touched by God’s Spirit.
